There have been multitude of studies showing rewards of increasing Omega-3 fatty acids. Here is a list of some of these results that relates to Omega-3 And Hyperlipidemia:
Hyperlipidemia is an excess of lipids in the blood. "Lipid" is a generic term for fats and lipoids, the alcohol-ether-soluble constituents of protoplasm, which are insoluble in water. They comprise the fats, fatty oils, essential oils, waxes, phospholipids, glycolipids, sulfolipids, aminolipids, chromolipids (lipochromes), and fatty acids.
Clinical studies has shown that an omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid concentrate increased plasma high-density lipoprotein 2 cholesterol and paraoxonase levels in patients with familial combined hyperlipidemia.
• Because other risk factors for coronary artery disease multiply the hazard from hyperlipidemia, control high blood pressure and avoid cigarette smoking.
Omega 3 reduces heart irregularities. Especially the DHA content of it has been shown to lower heart rates and also prevent arrhythmias (disturbances of the normal rhythm in the heart's beating), thus decreasing the chance of sudden death by a heart attack. |
